Before You Proceed with Cancellation
Cancelling a US Electronic Travel Authorization application is a significant decision that may affect your travel plans. Before initiating a cancellation request, we strongly recommend reviewing the information below to ensure this is the appropriate course of action for your particular situation.
Many travelers who consider cancellation actually need a modification instead. If your travel dates, accommodation, flight details, or contact information have changed, you may be able to update your existing application without cancelling it. Modifications preserve your original submission, avoid additional processing fees, and maintain your position in the review queue. Visit our modification guide to determine whether an update is sufficient for your needs.
It's also worth noting that an approved travel authorization remains valid for two years and supports unlimited entries into the United States during that period. Even if your immediate travel plans have changed, your authorization may still prove valuable for future trips. Consider whether you might visit the US within the next two years before deciding to cancel.
Cancellation Cannot Be Reversed
Once a cancellation request has been processed, the action is permanent and cannot be undone. If you wish to travel to the United States in the future, you will need to submit an entirely new application with full processing fees. Please be certain of your decision before proceeding.
Cancellation & Refund Eligibility
Whether you qualify for a refund depends on the current processing stage of your application at the time of your cancellation request.
Refund May Be Available
- Application is still in the initial review queue and has not yet been forwarded for processing
- Duplicate submission detected — you accidentally submitted the same application twice
- Technical error on our platform prevented your application from being handled correctly
- Cancellation requested within the cooling-off period specified in our refund policy
Refund Generally Not Available
- Application has already been submitted to the authorization processing system
- Authorization has been approved and linked to your passport
- Application was denied due to inaccurate or false information provided by the applicant
- Applicant failed to respond to requests for additional documentation
For complete details on our refund terms, please review our Refund Policy page.

Identify the specific application you wish to cancel by its reference number and applicant name. Review the current status carefully — if the application has already been processed, cancellation options may be limited.
